AGENDA

SPEAKERS
FIRESIDE CHAT | A CONVERSATION WITH STEM LEADERS
Women today have more opportunities than ever, but we still see women leave STEM careers, never to return as they continue to struggle to be heard and have their contributions respected. All this while juggling the responsibilities of family and home with their career. Women STEM Leaders share their own advice, experience, and thoughts on making choices and building alliances to make the most of those opportunities. Millicent O. Sullivan, Ph.D., Alvin B. & Julie O. Stiles Professor of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering Professor and Associate Chair of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, University of Delaware and Sarah E. Schenck, MD, FACP, Medical Director of Virtualist Medicine, ChristianaCare, join us for an engaging fireside chat to provide valuable insights on their leadership development journeys.

BURN BRIGHT WITHOUT BURNING OUT
Are you feeling the burn or reaching the end of your fuse? Are you ready to let your inner light shine through? Women and professionals all over the world are struggling with fatigue and exhaustion - but it doesn’t have to be this way. Organizational Wellness Coach and Facilitator Hannah Austin is here to help you create a life that restores your most precious resources - your energy, time, and passion for the things that truly light you up. This powerful session will provide actionable key takeaways to help you find your way back to you, and to move forward with more focus, enthusiasm, and vivacity.
BOTH/AND THINKING: EMBRACING CREATIVE TENSIONS TO SOLVE YOUR TOUGHEST PROBLEMS
Life is full of paradoxes. How can we each express our individuality and be a team player? How do we balance work and life? How can we take care of ourselves while supporting others? How can we manage the core business while innovating for the future? For many of us, these competing and interwoven demands are a source of conflict. Since our brains love to make either-or choices, we choose one option over the other. We deal with uncertainty by asserting certainty.
In Both/And Thinking, attendees learn to cope and thrive with multiple, knotted tensions at the same time. An actionable framework is provided for transforming these tensions into opportunities for innovation and personal growth. Both/And Thinking will completely change the way you approach your most vexing problems.

NETWORKING WITH PURPOSE, ON PURPOSE
Everyone knows about networking – but not everyone does it with purpose. Networking with purpose is the ability to cultivate authentic connections. Are your networking connections authentic? Jennifer Cohan, CEO of Leadership Delaware will dive into the best practices for networking with purpose. We will then head into an interactive speed networking session with a chance to win some prizes. Make sure you bring plenty of business cards!
MINDFUL MORNING MOVEMENT
Let’s take a few moments to bring the focus inward and connect the mind and body. The practice of mindfulness is a powerful tool for cultivating heightened awareness, improved self-regulation, and increased emotional intelligence. Through a series of breathing exercises and deliberate movements, this session will provide you with strategies to disentangle yourself from external stresses so you can align your actions and reactions with your true intent.
