| | Iwona Evans is an Owner and Chief Financial Officer at Aqua Science LLC. Iwona has over 15 years of experience managing Finance Departments in biotech industry in both private and public companies. During that time, she gained valuable perspective in managing a biotech organization. Iwona holds following business degrees: Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentration in International Business Management and Master of Management from Goldey-Beacom College; Master of Business Administration with concentration in New Venture Creation from University of Delaware. | Dr. Porta received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Drexel Institute of Technology and went on to complete a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson College of Technology. He started his career working for DuPont in various management positions until becoming President and Managing Director of DCV Inc (a joint venture between DuPont and ConAgra) in 1992. When DCV Inc was acquired by the employees in 2001, Arkion Life Sciences LLC was formed and Dr. Porta took over the role of President and CEO where he remains. | Prior to co-founding NAPIGEN in 2016, Hajime Sakai gained extensive experience in agricultural R&D from his eighteen years at DuPont Pioneer. While at DuPont Pioneer, he used diverse genetic and genomic strategies to create robust lead discovery platforms to identify new trait leads for major crop plants such as maize. That work resulted in numerous granted patents in the US and other countries. Before his industrial engagement, Sakai spent several years at Caltech researching plant molecular genetics, which led to the discovery of genes (e.g., SUPERMAN) that regulate the development of plant reproductive tissues and organs. Sakai obtained a Ph.D. from the University of Munich, Germany, in the area of yeast mitochondrial genetics. | Rovshan has a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering and 20+ years of experience in research and design of water/wastewater treatment system. His area of expertise includes conventional and advanced wastewater treatment systems, environmental chemistry, and environmental remediation. He has over 20 publications, conference presentations, and several patents on wastewater treatment and purification techniques. Rovshan’s most recent projects include the removal of contaminants of emerging concern from wastewater treatment plant effluents, treatment of industrial wastewater with high concentration of non-biodegradable organics, and biological treatment of high strength wastewater. In addition to his main work in water and wastewater treatment, Rovshan actively participates in many other R&D projects. |
