Newark, Delaware - Attention job seekers: Delaware bioscience companies are hiring!

Join 20 top Delaware bioscience companies on Wednesday, April 2 at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute in Newark for the first Life Sciences Career Fair hosted by the Delaware BioScience Association. This is a unique event that represents the first targeted bioscience job recruitment in Delaware as companies in the region are joining forces to recruit candidates for careers in the exciting field of life sciences.

This event will provide job seekers-ranging in experience from student interns to midcareer Ph.D. scientists-the opportunity to meet face-to-face with local life sciences employers actively recruiting for more than 100 jobs. Sponsored by Aerotek Scientific and supported by the national Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), this event will directly connect bioscience companies and applicants searching for their ideal job.

Recruiting companies represent a broad range within the life sciences including biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, instrumentation, medical devices, diagnostics and lab construction. Participants include Aerotek Scientific, Strategic Diagnostics, DuPont, Air Liquide, Adesis, Agilent Technologies, ThermoFisher, ANP Technologies, Fraunhofer Center for Molecular Biotechnology, Gore, Nemours Biomedical Research, Quest Pharmaceutical Services, Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, Critical Path Services, QS Pharma, Kelly Scientific Resources, ProTecs, Lab Support and Yoh.

These companies will be recruiting for candidates in the following areas: regulatory affairs, laboratory technicians, tissue culture scientists, synthetic organic chemists, sales and marketing, microbiologists, project managers, technical writers, research associates, accountants, postdoctoral fellows, clinical pharmacologists, metrology lab managers, technical services, QC chemists and engineers.

"In Delaware, we are fortunate to have such a high level and a diverse mix of life science companies and organizations-both large and small-that not only provide quality jobs in our state but that also provide technologies, science and services that help improve the quality of life for individuals worldwide," said Bob Dayton, President of the Delaware BioScience Association. "Our life sciences companies represent a dynamic and growing industry that helps strengthen and diversify Delaware's economy."

"The opportunity to be the presenting sponsor at the Delaware Bio Career Fair will allow us to better inform both customers and contract employees about the exceptional staffing solutions and job opportunities for scientific and biotech professionals that are available in the surrounding areas," said Craig Cancro of Aerotek Scientific.

The Delaware Bio Life Sciences Career Fair will be held from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m. at the Delaware Biotechnology Institute, 15 Innovation Way, Newark. Directions are available at www.dbi.udel.edu/directions. Job seekers with questions should contact careerfair@delawarebio.org or 302-452-1100.
