It is often said that the only thing constant is change. That is certainly true in today’s work environment where organizations are continuously evolving under pressures for greater profitability and efficiencies, and lower costs. As a result, we often find ourselves facing changes in our careers, whether it be changing responsibilities, a new role, or even a new job search. Such change can be overwhelming, but often presents exciting new opportunities that we otherwise may not have pursued.

In this session, a panel of women who have followed varied and changing career paths will talk about their experiences and what those changes have meant to them, both personally and professionally. The audience will then be presented with a series of questions for self-reflection and small group discussion to stimulate thinking about how to be prepared for possible career change with confidence.

Are you well supported in your career? Do you have mentors and sponsors who can help you advance your career? Mentors are your sounding boards who are inspiring and share what it takes to succeed spiritually. On the other hand, sponsors have your back! They advocate for you, recommend you for plum assignments, protect you when things go wrong and give you important feedback even when it’s critical or hard to hear.

Let’s find out helpful tips on how to find good mentors and sponsors and maintain good relationships with them!

Mastering the Art of Perseverance and Grit

  • Kelley Kendle, President & CEO, Synchrogenix

"Grit is passion and perseverance for very long-term goals. Grit is having stamina. Grit is sticking with your future, day-in, day-out. Not just for the week, not just for the month, but for years. And working really hard to make that future a reality. Grit is living life like it's a marathon, not a sprint." - Dr. Angela Lee Duckworth

Perseverance and grit are critical for personal and professional success. But how do you identify and cultivate grit? How do you develop the self-confidence to persevere in changing and challenging times? Through powerful personal stories, Kelley Kendle will share how these character strengths have been key ingredients in her success. In this session, you'll learn to recognize times of change and uncertainty as opportunities to thrive and succeed.
